Danile Giesy began her training at Tidewater Ballet in Norfolk, Virginia where she studied ballet and character. Additional training included summer intensives at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. She danced professionally for Richmond Ballet, Chamber Ballet of Williamsburg and Ballet Tidewater. She also toured with Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus for several seasons.

Danile is a third generation certified classical Pilates instructor and the most highly qualified and experienced EBAS instructor in the USA (after Master teacher and EBAS creator, Scott Putman.).   Danile has taught for the Governor’s School for the Arts in Norfolk and Tidewater Ballet, and was instrumental in introducing EBAS to the students of the dance department, where she now teaches it as part of the curriculum.  She is Co-Director of Bayside Youth Ballet, the resident company of Diggs School of Dance in Gloucester, VA. She has been a beloved member of the Faculty at Sun King Dance since 2002.

Danile has been working closely with Scott Putman for a number of years, and has had great success in teaching EBAS to people from 9 - 78 years old, both dancers and non-dancers.   She has shown particular expertise in incorporating her prodigious understanding of EBAS into her teaching of ballet technique.   Her classes are carefully programmed to cue dancers to apply the EBAS principles to their ballet practice, and she is eager to assist Perth dancers to further develop their ability to explore and utilise this seminal work.

Perth Ballet Management is delighted to be bringing Danile's expertise to the Perth ballet community in 2017.
